...tomorrow.
Yes, time to head back to the shop again. Seems like only a few days since Christmas - and then it feels like forever! The damage and destruction caused by the floods has been horrendous and it seems almost "not right" to go about one's normal, everyday life! I do hope that if any of my readers have been severely affected, please know that you are in our thoughts and hopefully, you are starting to get back "on track" again soon. One simple way we can assist those that are suffering, is to purchase an item through the Queensland Flood Appeal Auctions (click on the pink umbrella on the top left hand side of this blog) This will take you to an extensive master list of auctions that are happening this week only. A very big thank you to the people who have placed bids on the quilt that I have donated - see previous post. Click on comments under the post to see what's been happening, very exciting. The quilt is already up to $200!!
Delighted to see a blog post from Bev (Peggy and Bev's place) through the week too. Luckily they didn't suffer any damage during the floods in Emerald.
One of the things I was doing during my extended stay in Barcaldine over Christmas, was to strip and sand these gorgeous wooden chairs. Didn't quite get the second one finished. I just might be "out the back" tomorrow, if it's a little quiet at the counter! Not sure what colour to repaint yet, one probably white and the second one, I was thinking maybe a bright red. Any other suggestions?
These goodies arrived just before Christmas.
This photo is really just a tease, because you don't get to see too much, but they are Kaffe Fassett FQ bundles! 33 in each for $150 a bundle. That works out at just over $18 a metre!!!
The range on the right, Sherbet Pips, was one of the "talked" about collections at quilt market in Melbourne. Metreage is not yet available (due April) but I have Charm Squares and Layer Cakes in the shop, NOW, before the rest of the world!! Expect to see plenty of this fabric popping up in modern quilts. I just love the prints in the second from last row, plus the little girl on her scooter.
I've had a little girl on her scooter here for a few days, and a little boy, and a bigger boy and a bigger girl. (who's a bit too big for a scooter) That would be the grandchildren - who got to cut open one of Poppy's big watermelons. Nothing like a feed of cold juicy watermelon when you come home from a swim in the river!
There are several people taking up the challenge of the mystery medallion quilt that I spoke about a couple of weeks ago. I've almost completed round 4, and that's about ALL I've done over the holiday break. Let me know if you wish to participate as I can email most of the instructions to you to this stage.
Talk soon, Sandy.
