I've been in holiday mode, so my blog posts are a bit spasmodic. I hope you've all had a great Christmas with family and friends.
Our very wet weather, all over the State, has thrown many plans and lives into chaos. I do hope, if you are amongst the flood waters, that you are safe. We've had quite torrential rain here in Barcaldine, although none for a few days now. Rivers and creeks in the district are full to overflowing - our river crossing to Rocklea, will be impassable for some months! Bruce is home alone, safe, well and quite happy, although a more favourable result in the cricket wouldn't have gone astray!!
My plan was to spend Christmas with Kelly and family at Alpha. Road closures and flooding in Jericho and Alpha put a stop to that, so I stayed where I've been for the past month, with Norrelle and Eric. So what do you do when you're in town - go to the shop of course!
The back door had a different look too. Although the sun was shining when I took this photo, it definitely wasn't, 24 hours prior. The water had been under, but fortunately no damage to any fabric!! Lots of new stuff to show you soon.
A few posts back, I mentioned about a Scrappy Medallion quilt challenge, designed by Therese Hylton of the Patchwork Pumpkin. This has been keeping me out of mischief over the last few days. Anyone else up for the challenge?
This is my take on Step 1. I can email you the instructions if you wish, but the deal is that you don't receive Step 2 until I see your completed Step 1. This centre piece is 20" square. Just email me if you wish to participate.
A reminder too, that I am still working from the lap top, so I don't have too many email addresses. Hence, no advance notice of a new blog post. I am also in and out of the shop at odd hours, if you wish to ring me, my mobile is 0427488765. (I mostly remember to carry it!)
Marg was very busy before Christmas, making gorgeous pillowslips for 10 of her grandchildren. The designs were taken from patterns by Kellie Wulfsohn of Don't Look Now - the Monsters and the Worry Dolls which are in stock. There are literally 100's of pieces of fabric in all that applique. Great job, Marg. These are 8 of them.
For the first time in a long time, I didn't do any Christmas gift sewing. Bit slack eh - will have to rectify that next year.
Talk soon,
Sandy.

Hi Sandy. Thanks for the blogs thoughout the year. Although we are removed from all the big rain here, our thoughts are with those who are flooded. Wishing you all things good in 2011.

Hello Sandy...been thinking about all my fellow bloggers in Australia and wondered how they were faring in the wet flood waters. Since I don't know much about Australia...I don't know where different areas are located. Hope you are safe and dry. Amities, Averyclaire
